3 Ways To Become Irresistible As A Photographer
Have you ever felt like throwing in the towel when it comes to building your photography business?
Your love for photography isn't the problem...it's the actual marketing, pricing, and business side of things. If you could snap your fingers and have a fully booked calendar for the next 3 months, you would!
But...
It doesn’t matter how much you wish or hope. In fact, you may even say that you are doing everything you know how to do to attract more clients but you still feel invisible!
So how do you move from feeling invisible to becoming irresistible to your perfect clients?
For today, I want to share with you three insights that I’ve learned over 10+ years as a photographer that allowed me to shift from struggling to thriving.
Insight Number 1: The irresistible photographer is driven by passion, not fear.
Notice I didn’t say that the irresistible photographer doesn’t have fear. They do. I do. They have simply determined to not let that fear rule their actions.
It can be scary to put yourself out there, to try a new marketing strategy, to up your prices or to finally call yourself a “professional photographer.”
What will people think?
What if I fail?
What if no one comments posts or books a session?
Those are all normal questions to have as you grow, but the irresistible photographer doesn’t let the fear of the unknown stop her (or him) from trying.
Insight Number 2: The irresistible photographer focuses on adding VALUE to their client’s experience.
I could share dozens of ways that I and my mentorship students have done this but the gist is to approach your marketing, your sales, your experience, your product offerings, your everything around what will help, encourage, alleviate stress, make things easier, etc for your clients.
Quick example: My clients tend to be super busy and short on free time so to make them meet up again for an in-person sales session to view their photos were often times inconvenient. So I shifted my experience and started implementing Same Day Viewings (meaning my clients can see the photos I took of them within one hour of the photoshoot)! This saved them loads of time (and me as well), produced a quicker turnaround time, and made it more convenient for them! As a result, my sales averages increased by $1000+ without having to up my prices!

If you focus on making your client’s lives better, you’ll never lack clients.
Insight Number 3: The irresistible photographer knows that persistence pays off (and then is persistent).
This principle can be applied to many areas of business, but perhaps the most obvious is in marketing.
There are hundreds of ways to get the word out there about your photography but the most successful marketing strategy is the strategy you are persistent with.
It took me about 3 months of persistent blogging before clients started to find me off of google.
It was my third year of running a model program when I finally had a team of 17 paying models and sold out senior sessions.
It took hours of research and investing money I wasn’t sure I’d see a rerun on (and sometimes I didn’t) before my Facebook ads started working.
A flower will not blossom without persistent watering, so let’s not expect our photography businesses to take off without persistent marketing.
Pick 2 or 3 marketing strategies that you can be persistent with and then work on those every day, every week, and every month.
Growth takes time so stop being so hard on yourself for not having it all together right now and focus on being persistent with a few key things every day.
So if you take a good honest look at your business, which one is these 3 areas could you improve in?
