5 Reasons Why Photography Businesses Fail (and How To Avoid Failing)
Real talk....
If you're having a hard time booking photography clients, it's likely because of one of these reasons (or a combo)...
1. You do not yet have a clear plan or financial goal you are going after.
If you haven't defined how many bookings you'd like every month or how much money you'd like to make every month in business, you'll be left not knowing what to do because you do not know the end game!
2. You pop from one marketing strategy to another too frequently.
There are a million ways to market your business! But the key here is to do ONE thing consistently, over weeks and even months, tweaking as you go. If you switch too often, you'll never see results.
3. You do not have a clear understanding of who your ideal client is.
Many photographers struggle with knowing what to say in posts and social media...and basically knowing what to say in all their marketing. It all depends on WHO your ideal client is. You've got to learn how they think so you can talk directly to them!
4. You do not know how to outsource or fail to invest in your skillset.
Time is your most valuable asset so boundaries need to be set in place so that you are maximizing on whatever time you do have. Perhaps it would be wise for you to outsource your editing, or house cleaning so that you can spend your mental energy on things that will move your business forward. Likewise, investing in programs and group coaching allows you to succeed faster as you can follow your coach's tried and true method instead of wasting time figuring out what doesn't work on your own.
5. You fear failure, second guess, procrastinate and compare yourself instead of DOING the work!
What have you been avoiding doing? Maybe you fear how other people will see you or you worry it won't be as good as another photographer. Who cares!!! The only way to grow is to DO THE THING. Even if it doesn't work out, you will still learn, and if learn in the process, there really is no failure.
If you fall into any of these, it's OK! Learn from your mistakes, correct the problem and keep taking action every day.
Remember that success is a result of making the right decisions every day regardless of how you feel or if you're seeing results.
