3 Website Mistakes That Are Costing You Bookings

Nearly every year, I hire (not simply trade) a photographer to photograph my family. And depending on the photographer's pricing, I budget to spend a few hundred to a few thousand dollars ... and I am giddy to do so!

Why?

Because I love being the client, and I am happy to pay for a great service, especially for photography because I clearly value it!

But a few years ago when I was searching for a family photographer, I noticed some huge mistakes across a ton of photographers websites.

I kid you not. These "mistakes" made me click right off of their website.

Sure they all had beautiful images, but that wasn't enough!

They lost a booking from a ready and willing buyer (ME) because of these mistakes!

And as I work with photographers on a daily basis inside The Booked Photographer Mentorship, I've come to realize that creating an irresistible website that has potential clients reaching out to you is a big challenge!

So for today, here are 3 website tips to increase your photography inquiries!

1. Create a specific page for each niche that you photograph.

As a photographer, you may be tempted to throw all your wedding, newborn, family, senior boudoir info and images all up on ONE page, but please don't! This can be so confusing for a potential client. Instead create a specific page for each niche you photograph that directly speaks to and addresses the questions and concerns of that type of client.

2. Show and promote only ONE (maybe two) offers at any given time.

When I was looking for a photographer for a recent family vacation, I found a website that had GORGEOUS work. When I went to the photographer's investment section, I saw over a DOZEN different mini session / regular session options! Even as a photographer, that was way too overwhelming for me so I clicked right off her website.

Remember, a confused mind will always say no so ask yourself "how can I make my website more clear and simple with my offers and session types?"

3. Display your contact information - including your LOCATION - on EVERY page of your website!

Location is HUGE! Your town, city, county or state needs to be on EVERY SINGLE PAGE! Not only does that help with SEO, but if people are traveling to your hometown for vacation, they may not be familiar with the surrounding areas...so make it clear for them!

Of course there's a bit more that goes into creating irresistible websites, but these are some of the most common mistakes I see.

If you are doing any of this yourself, now is the time to go fix it!

Cheering you on!
