4 Ways To Earn More In Your Photography Business Without Working More
Quick question: Do you think you have to work more in order to earn more?
The answer: Yes and no.
Working more, booking more sessions and weddings is **one** way to making more, but if you have a full life like I do, time is of the essence and booking more may not be realistic when you factor in your other commitments!
It's a common misconception among photographers that the only way to make more money is photograph more people.
If booking more is what you want to do, great! If not, know that there other ways to increase your income without shooting more sessions.
Making money doesn't always have to mean more time away from your family.
From my own journey as a photographer, here are four tips that have allowed me to maximize my limited time and make more while not working longer hours.
TIP #1: Prioritize the Money Making Tasks
You probably have a massively long list of to-do items, but if you were to really analyze that list, how many of those activities are busy work verses income generating activities?
In order to earn more but not work more, you'll have to be incredibly focused with your time and only spend it on the things that bring you in paying clients.
Editing and re-editing for hours on end will not necessarily make you money.
TIP #2: Create a System, Then Automate
There's probably a half a dozen things in your business that you are doing manually that you can easily automate.
And when you automate things, you save time!
One of the best things that I did was create an online calendar where prospective clients can schedule a time to talk with me. The calendar software automatically sends them confirmation emails, reminder emails and text messages all the while I'm off doing other things!
TIP #3: Batch Your Tasks
This is such a lifesaver! Try batching batching all your social media or recording all your reels in an afternoon instead of stressing over it the night before!
You could also set aside one day a week to create and order the products your clients purchased, or write a month's worth of emails or blogs. The options are endless here!
TIP #4: Delegate
Confession, this has been the hardest for me to learn, and I still struggle with it to this day, but there will come a point when you are the only one holding yourself back from growing.
You will limit the growth of your business if everything depends on you. You only have so much time and energy to give.
So ask yourself "Where could I get more help in my business?"
It may mean hiring someone who will create and schedule your blog posts or social media, or edit photos, or handle customer service.
You don't limit yourself to only delegating in your business either. What can you delegate in your personal life? Would getting a biweekly house cleaner help out? Or utilizing grocery delivery options save you time?
So which one of these four tips hit home for you? Comment below and tell me which one resonated most with you in this season and why!
Cheering you on!
